10 days ago, we released Book Idea GPT.
A custom GPT to find profitable book ideas in minutes.
Today, I want to explain why we built this and how it works (not pitch it):
For a long time, our book topic research process looked solid.
Ideas went into a spreadsheet.
We validated them carefully.
Everything felt “done right.”
But every time I looked at it, something felt off.
Not because the method was wrong.
Because progress was slow.
Bad ideas weren’t being rejected.
They were being entertained.
And that’s dangerous — especially if you’re early.
The biggest mistake I see people make in publishing isn’t choosing the wrong book idea.
It’s spending weeks trying to convince themselves an idea might work.
That’s time you don’t get back.
And momentum you don’t rebuild easily.
At some point, I realized something simple:
If an idea needs hours of explanation, it’s usually because demand isn’t obvious.
Real demand leaves signals.
You don’t have to dig for them.
So we stopped asking, “How do we research better?”
And started asking, “How do we know faster?”
That’s what led to Book Idea GPT.
Not as a product.
As a shortcut to clarity.
The goal wasn’t to be smarter.
It was to decide sooner.
Now, instead of spending hours inside spreadsheets, we can tell in minutes whether an idea is worth exploring or killing.
And that changes everything.
People stop getting emotionally attached to bad ideas.
They move on faster.
They build portfolios instead of getting stuck on book idea #1.
I’ve seen this with clients, too.
Once they realize they can find profitable book ideas in minutes, the business stops feeling heavy.
One client told us:
“I’m still early-stage, but this finally feels doable.”
Another said:
“Nobody in the industry is operating at this level.”
What stood out to me wasn’t the excitement.
It was the relief.
Because clarity is underrated.
We recorded a short demo showing exactly how we used Book Idea GPT — the same way we use it internally and with clients – to find money-making ideas in the Crafts & Hobbies niche.

PS: If your research process doesn’t help you say no faster, it’s probably slowing your progress without you realizing it.
PPS: Book Idea GPT is only available for PublishingOS clients. (That's why I can't share more)
